Good afternoon and welcome to our first hog roast blog of the week. What a spectacular weekend we had this Saturday and Sunday catering at Halloween events, we saw some weird but wonderful costumes at the weekend which seemed to bring a bit of madness to each party we catered at!! everyone was letting their hair down and we had a fantastic time being a part of it.

On Wednesday we will be heading down not too far from the office to cater at a leaving party taking place at a college about 15 minutes drive away. The catering team always like to be prepared and we have already got all the paperwork done and dusted with end everything is set to go with over 200 people to cater for as we have been told that they will be coming together to see two of their staff leave on retirement.

My hog roast team and the other hog roast teams here at hog roast caterer have lots of jobs booked in Friday, Saturday, Sunday and even Monday so we will be travelling all over in the next four days helping our customers to celebrate the spooky event in style!

On Saturday me and one of my catering assistants will be catering at a Halloween ball for the local college.  Its a fancy dress theme and we have been asked to join in so if you are one of the 300 students attending be prepared to have your food served up by Dracula and Frankenstein!  I’m sure this will be a great event and it will be nice to join in with the Halloween tradition of fancy dress whilst we work.

For this event we will be serving up a simple hot hog roast and bbq style buffet.  Spit roasted pig, burgers and sausages served up on fresh bread with a selection of sauces and salads.  Perfect party food for this fancy dress themed ball.

Spit Roasted Chicken and Hog Roast Feast For Double Christening

Its time for another hog blog from the Hog Roast Caterer team and today we are bringing you news from our latest hog roast caterer Christening catering…….

So hello and welcome to all you hog blog readers hope you are having a great day so far.

I had a well deserved day off yesterday after an extremely hectic weekend.  I did lots of catering jobs this weekend and finished off on Sunday evening at a double christening party.  It was a lovely Christening and a double reason to celebrate as not one but two babies were christened.  The lovely little ones are actually cousins and they were born on the same day!  To celebrate their christening they were joined by their very proud parents plus over one hundred family and friends.  And of course we were also there to provide a hog roast feast for the occasion.

We served up hog roast with apple sauce, stuffing and crunchy crackling as well as spit roasted turkey with cranberry sauce.  This was teamed with fresh green salad, home made coleslaw and potato salad as well as jacket potatoes stuffed with bacon and cheese.  It was a real feast and was enjoyed by all who attended the double christening.

Afterwards the hog roast caterer waiting on staff helped to serve the dessert which was a fabulous Christening cake make by the grandmother of the baby girls.  She has made a wonderful choclate cake with pink icing in the shape of a fairy tale castle.

Good Afternoon Hog Blog readers, its time for Thursdays Blog of the week and what a week it has been for all of us here in the office earlier this week we had a few technical problems with sending out emails…. but now that the problems have been dealt with and fixed we are finally back on track of all the paper work.

Quite a few clients this week have decided to take menus into their own hands… this weekend the catering team will be heading our to a christening the menu they have has been specially requested as they are wanting a full English breakfast in the morning followed by barbeque food in the afternoon with tea and biscuits. The catering team are more than happy to cook special requests chosen by our customers because we know that everybody has different styles and taste

More Winter Weddings

Hello and good afternoon to all the hog roast caterer fans out there, its time for another hog blog from the team.

Its Wednesday the 19th of October 2011 and following on from yesterdays blog about our Winter weddings we have had even more enquiries coming through about weddings in November, December and even January and February.

The Christmas theme  wedding is certainly more popular this year and so is the Valentines day wedding.  Although you will probably not get the perfect wedding day weather in these months you can still get the perfect wedding day food thanks to the hog roast caterer team.  We love a good wedding catering job no matter what team of the year, so come rain or shine you can enjoy one of our tasty wedding menus on your special day.

Many people say that our hog roast and other meat roasts make the perfect winter warmer so it makes sense to enjoy these at your Winter wedding.  At the moment I have having many requests for wedding menus in December and customer are asking to tweak them slightly so that they fit perfectly into the Christmas theme.  The main tweaks are spit roasted turkeys instead of hog roast for the main and Christmas pudding for dessert!  Of course we are happy to make these mall changes and bring the customer exactly want they want on their special

Winter Weddings

Winter Weddings

Good afternoon everybody and welcome to another exciting hog blog from the hog roast caterer team.  Its Tuesday the 18th of October 2011 and although we have only just entered the Autumn season it feels like winter has well and truly arrived!  As I look out of the window and see the dull grey sky and the rain pouring down it seems like Winter is well underway.

But never mind as it may be Winter but I still have many jobs booked in to keep me busy 🙂 This year I especially have lots of Winter wedding catering to look forward to.  Winter weddings were basically unheard of when I first began working in the catering industry many moon ago, but nowadays they are becoming more and more popular.   Why is this?  Well I can think of a few reasons;  Many people want to get married on the same day that they met and sometimes this falls on a day in the winter season, also people are becoming more and more interested in the romantic Christmas themed weddings and finally sometimes it easier to tie the knot out of the Summer season as there is more availability for you plus better value prices!

So if you are planning a winter wedding yourself why not check out the menus and packages that the hog roast caterer team have on offer?  After all we just love to cater for wedding events and with our great choices you are sure to find something just right for your big day.
