Hog Roast Luton Gears Up For Halloween Disco Delight!

Ghouls, goblins, and ghosts, oh my! With September in full swing, you know what that means—spooky season is right around the corner! Here at Hog Roast Luton, we live for this time of year. Our calendar is already bursting at the seams with haunted houses, costume parties, pumpkin patch adventures, and so much more. And this Halloween is shaping up to be epic!

One event we’re especially excited to cater for is a high school Halloween disco, organised by the ever-busy PTA. The planning committee divided up tasks, and the catering landed in the hands of Charlotte, who was just a little nervous about getting it all sorted (can you blame her?). With a strict budget and lots of taste preferences to juggle, it seemed like a tall order at first. But all her worries soon vanished when she stumbled upon Hog Roast Luton.

From the moment she called, Charlotte was over the moon with how friendly and helpful our team was—she was so impressed she almost had to pinch herself. After explaining the need for a budget-friendly, crowd-pleasing menu that could cover a variety of diets, we jumped right in with a solution that made her day: our Southern Slow Roast Menu. Packed with comforting flavours, this menu is perfect for hungry teens and, best of all, it fits well within Charlotte’s budget. That gave her some extra wiggle room to splurge on decorations and treats for the kids—talk about a win-win!

The spooky disco menu Charlotte picked is a hit in the making. In a few short weeks, students will feast on Cajun-spiced whole roast chicken, BBQ pork butt, and drool-worthy Texan 24-hour beef brisket. For the non-meat eaters? We’ve got BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls dressed in fresh coleslaw. On the side, there’s a smorgasbord of mixed fries, potato salad, and gooey, irresistible mac and cheese. To keep things eco-friendly (because we love the planet too!), all the food will be served on rustic bamboo plates with matching cutlery.

We can’t wait to see this spooky soirée come to life! It’s going to be an unforgettable night full of fun, food, and freaky dance moves. Got your own Halloween bash coming up? Don’t wait—give Hog Roast Luton a call before our diary is fully booked, and let’s make your spooky season one to remember!

Hog Roast Skegness – Supporting The RNLI With Our Delicious Hog Roasts!

This year, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) hit an epic milestone—200 years of saving lives at sea! This incredible charity, powered by a crew of fearless volunteers, has rescued over 146,277 people since its launch. To celebrate this monumental achievement, the RNLI has been throwing some fantastic events up and down the UK these past few months, and we at Hog Roast Skegness were thrilled to be part of the festivities!

Hog Roast SkegnessOn Sunday, the Hog Roast Skegness team packed up our gear and ventured a bit further than usual to cater for a privately organised RNLI fundraising event! The get-together, which was held at the docks and carefully planned by Alison as a way of raising money for a cause close to her heart, was a brilliant blend of good food and good company.

For a modest fee, attendees not only enjoyed a lip-smacking hog roast sandwich by the sea but also got an up-close look at the lifeboats and a chance to meet some of the real-life heroes who keep them afloat. There were also raffles with fabulous prizes, which added a little extra excitement to the day and helped to raise even more funds for the charity.

Our hog roast was most definitely a crowd-pleaser. From the moment the first roll was served, compliments started rolling in. Guests were wowed by the tender, juicy meat, the perfectly seasoned stuffing, and the applesauce that brought it all together. But the real icon? The crackling. It was crisp, lightly salted, and was so delicious it had everyone craving more.

Seeing people’s faces light up with delight as they savoured our food made the trip well worthwhile for Hog Roast Skegness. And, as for the handful of RNLI crew members who stopped by —they were not just heroes of the sea but also the best hosts, making sure everyone had a fantastic time while sharing their inspiring stories.

All in all, it was a fantastic day out for the Hog Roast Skegness team, filled with great food, great company, and a great cause. We loved being part of such a special day and helping to celebrate the RNLI’s incredible journey.

Here’s to the RNLI and their amazing 200 years of lifesaving service, and to many more events where we can bring our hog roast magic to support such a fantastic cause.

Chef and Griddle can cater for your event whatever the weather!

When planning a summer party, we can only hope that the weather will be nice, but the British summertime is far from cooperative. Even if the weather doesn’t go to plan, Chef and Griddle can ensure that your menu is perfect come rain or shine! Here is just one menu you could enjoy thanks to our team…

This July, Chef and Griddle is set to cater for a family party taking place at a local function room. The venue has a large indoor space, as well as a patio area and garden, complete with a children’s play area. This made it the ideal choice for the party, which will include 60 guests of all ages. For the catering, our team has been hired to provide our Gourmet BBQ menu at the event, which is sure to be a great addition to the day. This menu includes a tasty selection of dishes, with something that is sure to be ideal for every guest.

On the day of the event, the Chef and Griddle team arrived at the venue and set up our catering station on the patio. The weather was not looking good, but luckily we always come prepared with a marquee to cover our catering station. We began our prep by barbequing the main dishes, which included succulent pork sausages, veggie sausages, juicy British beef burgers, halloumi and vegetable skewers, marinated chicken kebabs, and BBQ spareribs. These dishes were served in fresh bread rolls, with gluten-free rolls also on offer. We also served homemade chips, sweet potato fries, gourmet coleslaw, corn cobettes, creamy mac and cheese, and a fresh salad dish. While we were hard at work, the rain came and went, but the sun was trying hard to make an appearance by the time it was ready to serve the menu. Luckily for the guests, our menu tasted just as good indoors as it would in the sunshine!

To book your catering with Chef and Griddle today, simply let us know your party size, date, and location and we can do the rest. We hope to be working with you soon!

Ready Yourself for Summer with the Best Grill in Barbecuing!

It feels like the sun always catches us out here in the UK, and on those fleeting occasions that it does come out and the temperature sores it does always feel like we each have to make the most of it for every second that we can.

Chef And GriddleThat is why barbecuing becomes such a big thing during the summer, and also why it is one of the most frustrating type of occasions to plan for. You can only do it when the sun comes out, but by that time everyone else has already had the same idea and rushed out to the shops to grab the last few disposable grills left. Never mind what is to go on the grill either; burger and sausage shelves get swept and swept quick as soon as the sun comes out.

What if you could ready yourself right now and avoid all the hustle and bustle when the time comes for your summer BBQ instead? With Chef and Griddle’s expert hog roasting machines, you can. And yes, we said hog roasting machines, because our state-of-the-art catering utensils are some of the best in the biz when it comes to barbecuing as well! With the variability of a Chef and Griddle roasting machine, you can quickly switch out attachments and have a barbecue and grill ready to go at a moment’s notice – while still being able to use it as a roaster at the same time on some models too!

We lease our hog roasting machines out for hire or even purchase. By coming to Chef and Griddle today you could grab an expert barbecue to ensure your summer plans are secured. With the capability of our barbecues, you can grill a tonne of food at once, and you won’t have to worry about space or heat issues like you might with a disposable barbecue. These are top notch machines that provide excellent results every single time. Most models are also lightweight enough to move to different locations too, so whether you want you want your barbecue to be out in the garden or over to the beach, Chef and Griddle will have you covered!

Late Night with the Stags at Chef and Griddle

With wedding season here that also means it is the season for stag and hen dos as well. The old tradition of the stag and hen do is a brilliant one; one last night of freedom where you each get together with groomsmen/bridesmaids and friends and family and enjoy a celebratory night or weekend away. As a wedding caterer, we at Chef and Griddle are often asked if we can conduct a stag party dinner, sometimes even as a wrapped in part of our overall wedding service, and the answer is of course yes, we love to do stag and hen dos!

If ever there was a reminder of just how much fun we can have with a stag do it would be the one our Chef and Griddle team were invited out to this past week. Celebrating the wedding of the soon to be Mr and Mrs Lars, the Chef and Griddle team were invited to provide a set course dinner for the groom, Kyle Lars, last weekend. We had actually already gotten to know the future Mr and Mrs Lars a few months prior when they had us in for their engagement party last year, and it is there where we met Kyle’s best man Liam who then remembered how much everyone had enjoyed our hog roast buffet and contacted us to come out for Kyle’s stag. We were of course all too happy to do so.

The stags were set up for a brilliant weekend, so as part of it Liam arranged for a more formal sit-down dinner before the more ‘chaotic’ festivities began out in the town centre as the party headed out to the casino. The theme, therefore, for our dinner service was to be a Casino Royale theme as the boys all came down in their best tux’s and black-tie suits while our chefs prepared our formal hog roast dining experience for them.

It ended up setting the tone for what we hear was an excellent night out – with some big winnings from the casino too as we understand it! – so we would just like to say a thank you to Liam for inviting us out and a hearty congratulations to Kyle when the big day comes!

Chef and Griddle – Why Our Outdoor Dining is Perfect for Spring

With spring here and the sunnier days returning to the calendar, the Chef and Griddle team is raring to go with outdoor catering. It might be something that is often missed with our service as not everyone immediately recognises that we can adapt our dining for both indoor and outdoor Chef And Griddleservices, but just about any menu is adaptable under the right conditions. Of course, we also have some menus that are specifically curated with outdoor dining in mind, and it is these menus and services that we think are going to best serve your events this spring and summer.

Our hog roast signature is a dish that is primed for either outdoor or indoor dining, although its cooking process always tends to look best out in the elements where it traditionally belongs. But for spring we’d like to recommend our more seasonally appropriate menus, such as our grazing tables and al fresco dining platters. These are menus made with the weather in mind, because after all, the conditions of any event can alter how guests might want to dine. Our grazing tables, for example, are the perfect light option for those warmer days where guests might not want to be stodged down with a heavier roast meal. They are a perfect balance of vibrancy and colour in your catering as our team set up an impressive looking display of foods for guests to peruse at their leisure. This could be great reds with our Italian meats, popping all the more against our bright leafy greens, oils, and cheeses. It’s the kind of presentation that looks great for outdoor events and always stops guests in their tracks.

Our al fresco menu is also always perfect on a spring day, and so too is our gourmet barbecue of course, which gives guests all their favourites from the British barbecue with our own Chef and Griddle gourmet twists. Use the season to your advantage; talk to your Chef and Griddle team for the best way to serve your outdoor events this spring!

Chef and Griddle Braved The Elements To Attend A Charity Gala!

Chef And GriddleIn the face of the UK’s recent turbulent weather, Chef and Griddle proved that not even a storm could dampen our spirits or halt our commitment to creating unforgettable moments. Last week, we ventured to a local casino, defying the elements, to contribute to a truly spectacular Casino Royale-themed charity gala. Despite the weather warnings of high-speed winds and torrential rain our team was determined to make the event a memorable one.

As guests braved the stormy weather to attend this luxurious affair, they were met with an opulent atmosphere that echoed the sophistication of a James Bond film. Casino tables adorned the venue, inviting attendees to try their luck in various card games, all while dressed in elegant cocktail attire. The evening was enhanced with specialty mixed drinks, live entertainment, swag bags filled with delightful surprises, and raffles offering the chance to win upscale prizes.

Chef and Griddle, true to our dedication to excellence, ensured that the culinary experience matched the event’s lavish theme. Our Formal Hog Roast Dining Experience Menu enticed the taste buds from the beginning. Arriving guests were treated to a selection of exquisite canapés, including roasted duck, smoked Scottish salmon, roasted halloumi and tomato crostini, pan-seared fillet of beef, and an exciting Indian selection.

The indulgence continued with a three-course meal, starting with a hearty homemade soup of the day served with crusty bread rolls and butter. For the main course, guests were presented with a choice: garlic and rosemary-studded English lamb with Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce, whole-roasted free-range pig with crackling, stuffing, and applesauce, or grilled vegetable kebabs with optional halloumi, tzatziki dip, and flatbreads. Each main was complemented by classic Caesar salad, heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, coleslaw, and buttered new potatoes.

The culinary journey reached its pinnacle with the delightful vacherins of strawberries and passion fruit cream or handmade individual cheesecakes, ending the feast on a sweet note.

The guests were not only enchanted by the food but were also captivated by the evening’s atmosphere, which saw a stormy night transformed into a sparkling gala of generosity and warmth. Much to the delight of the event organisers, the evening surpassed all expectations, enabling them to donate more than anticipated to their chosen cause.

Chef and Griddle proved once again that amidst the storm, we can create a culinary oasis, transforming special events into cherished memories. With dedication, passion, and a touch of gourmet magic, we continue to help our clients come rain or shine.
