Two great days

Hog roast catering is a great way to get friends and/or family together. We provide a friendly and professional service which is loved by all. We receive complements after every service and event we cater for. This is a rewarding business, making events extra special with our culinary skills and wonderful produce. We cater all across the UK so no location is too far.

Last weekend Hog Roast Caterer had a marvellous time near Middlesbrough hosting a wonderful event for a double birthday party. Two neighbours both have children with the same birthday in the same week. So they decided to have a big party for them both. Taking the panels out of the back fence to create a wonderful surviving space for us. We were serving up our amazing banquet Party Menu 2; Spit Roasted Pig with Professionally Presented Crackling along with freshly made Stuffing and Piping Hot and Delicious Bramley Apple Sauce. Spit Roasted Chicken served with Piping Hot Delicious Stuffing, served with freshly Baked Floured bread rolls served with local Butter. This went down a treat, both were beautifully cooked and we receive a lot of praise for both dishes. The party was enjoyed by all and all in all was a huge success.

The next day with well cleaned machines we headed off to Leeds to cook a huge feast for 120 people who was attending a wedding. The Bride and Groom wanted a sit down dinner and wanted an extra special service to match the wedding service. We set up bright and early like always to make sure everything is spick and span for the lovely couple. We set up the tables neatly with sparkling clean cutlery, glasses along with set up table cloth and napkins. We set up the hog and started roasting away. We helped pick the menu for the couple which was Wedding Menu 3 with Capitulating Canapés, choice of Two Spectacular Spit Roasts which they picked; Spit Roasted Pig served with Applesauce Stuffing & Crispy Crackling also Spit Roasted Roast Beef served with Horse Radish Sauce, Yorkshire Pudding and Homemade Red Wine Gravy. These grand dishes were complemented with Seasonal Vegetables and Roasted New Potatoes in Rosemary and Garlic. Then to polish that feast down a delightful dessert which was Chocolate Delight. Then for the people who wasn’t nearly bursting some well presented Wedding Cake, thoughtfully we received a piece, which was thank you for everything.

After the service ended we have been received many thanks and some enquires too. We had an amazing time in Leeds and hope to be there soon.

Happy New Year

Hello hog roast fans, happy new year, I hope you had a fantastic holiday and I’m guessing we are all back at work this morning feeling a little sore after the festive activities. I thought I’d spend a little bit of time this morning keep you up to date with our movements over the holiday period and our plans for the new year.

Christmas was absolutely hectic for us this year we were fully booked on most days and we did our biggest new years eve ever. One event in particular that sticks in my mind is the private party we did in central London on New Years Eve. It was party on a rooftop which provided excellent views of the city and of course the firework display  was spectacular. It was a great night and the hog roast went down really well. That one of the best aspect of working as part of hog roast caterer is that you never get bored. During 2011 we have worked all over the UK on some truly fantastic events and met some great people along the way. We have seen the business grow this year which is amazing considering the economic climate and I am truly proud of the work we have done. New Years Eve spent on working on a rooftop party in London was just a fantastic way to cap it all off.

So here we are in 2012, and what’s new for this year? Well stay tuned for some exciting new menu options becoming available in the next few weeks.  January and February are always important for wedding booking so if your interested in letting us cater your special day then get in touch. Also we are gearing up with what we hope to be a busy summer what with the Olympics coming to town. So we are purchase a lot of new equipment as well as updating some of our hog roast machines. I’m really looking forward to 2012 and already today the phone has been ringing with event in the up coming months.

So here to a fantastic 2012 for all the hog roast caterer fans. We hope to hear from you soon.

More Winter Weddings

Hello and good afternoon to all the hog roast caterer fans out there, its time for another hog blog from the team.

Its Wednesday the 19th of October 2011 and following on from yesterdays blog about our Winter weddings we have had even more enquiries coming through about weddings in November, December and even January and February.

The Christmas theme  wedding is certainly more popular this year and so is the Valentines day wedding.  Although you will probably not get the perfect wedding day weather in these months you can still get the perfect wedding day food thanks to the hog roast caterer team.  We love a good wedding catering job no matter what team of the year, so come rain or shine you can enjoy one of our tasty wedding menus on your special day.

Many people say that our hog roast and other meat roasts make the perfect winter warmer so it makes sense to enjoy these at your Winter wedding.  At the moment I have having many requests for wedding menus in December and customer are asking to tweak them slightly so that they fit perfectly into the Christmas theme.  The main tweaks are spit roasted turkeys instead of hog roast for the main and Christmas pudding for dessert!  Of course we are happy to make these mall changes and bring the customer exactly want they want on their special

Winter Weddings

Winter Weddings

Good afternoon everybody and welcome to another exciting hog blog from the hog roast caterer team.  Its Tuesday the 18th of October 2011 and although we have only just entered the Autumn season it feels like winter has well and truly arrived!  As I look out of the window and see the dull grey sky and the rain pouring down it seems like Winter is well underway.

But never mind as it may be Winter but I still have many jobs booked in to keep me busy 🙂 This year I especially have lots of Winter wedding catering to look forward to.  Winter weddings were basically unheard of when I first began working in the catering industry many moon ago, but nowadays they are becoming more and more popular.   Why is this?  Well I can think of a few reasons;  Many people want to get married on the same day that they met and sometimes this falls on a day in the winter season, also people are becoming more and more interested in the romantic Christmas themed weddings and finally sometimes it easier to tie the knot out of the Summer season as there is more availability for you plus better value prices!

So if you are planning a winter wedding yourself why not check out the menus and packages that the hog roast caterer team have on offer?  After all we just love to cater for wedding events and with our great choices you are sure to find something just right for your big day.

Next Weeks Wedding Menu

Good Morning everybody!  Its Tuesday the 9th of August 2011 and I’m here to tell you all about the wonderful wedding catering that I will be providing next weekend.  I am so excited about this event as I have just met up with the soon to be Mr and Mrs and we have finalised their menu for the big day which is this Saturday.

The couple want to enjoy a three course sit down meal for their wedding breakfast and this is what we have created together:

STARTER:  Smoked Salmon or veggie option of garlic mushrooms

MAIN: One of our wonderful hog roasts, along with one of our spit roasted lambs, Quorn meat also served as a veggie alternative, seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes.

Dessert: Wedding cake served with fresh cream and summer fruits

Once the evening party is in full swing the couple has requested a hot evening buffet so we will be doing one of our famous Hog roast caterer BBQs and serving up sausages, burgers, hot dogs and marinated chicken wings.  We will also be doing chips and providing plenty of bread rolls plus of wide selection of sauces and relishes to really compliment the bbq food.

I am really pleased with the final menu and like the happy couple am looking forward to Saturday 🙂

Beach Wedding

Hi everybody its time for another blog from the Spitting Pig team.  So why not make yourself a tea or coffee sit back, relax and take five minutes out of your hectic day to catch up with the Spitting Pig team.

My name is Cassie and I am one of the hog roast catering chefs and today its my turn to bring you another excellent blog.  Its Thursday the 21st of July 2011 and I have just returned from our factory where our hog roast machine are designed, manufactured and sent out.  I like to visit the factory whenever I get the chances to keep up to date with the changes and developments in the industry and its always great to talk business with the hog roast machine team.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with Garth, our leading design technician.  Garth (known to many as the machine magician…. and not because of his card tricks but because his machines work like pure magic!) is expert in the hog roast machine industry and has won the company several awards thanks to his amazing engineering skills and extensive knowledge of the industry.  He has also designed personalised hog roast machines for some top names in the catering industry as well as some A list celebrity chefs.  What Garth doesn’t know about hog roast machines isn’t worth knowing so its always great to hear his thoughts and ideas as well as get feedback on how the machine side of the business is growing and developing.

Weekend Of Wedding Catering

Good morning everybody!  Its Monday again so back to work for most of you boooooooo!  But never mind before you begin the first day of the working week the Hog Roast Caterer team are here to cheer you up, So make yourself a tea or coffee and take a five minute break whilst you catch up with our latest blog and find out what adventure we got up to this weekend!

Its certainly been a wedding catering this weekend for myself and the my catering team.  We have catered two large weddings in 48 hours and both chose our fine dining luxury wedding packages.  Both opted for the traditional sit down three course meal incorporating the hog roast as the main.

The first wedding was in a beautiful castle in the countryside.  The bride and groom and their 100 guests enjoyed a starter of home made soup, a main of hog roast and all the trimmings, followed by wedding cake as dessert.

The second weeding was at a beautiful private location by a lake and the happy couple plus 200 of their nearest and dearest feasted on luxury Indian style canapés and champagne as they arrived.  The sit down meal began with a delish seafood starter and the main included a perfect hog roast plus a spit roasted lamb served with Mediterranean style vegetables and salads.  To finish the wedding party enjoyed our home made cheesecake and for those being good we had the option of fresh fruit salad.

It was a great weekend for our wedding catering business 🙂
