wedding hog blog

Just a quick update on the things that we have been doing this week, as a hog roast caterer and professional chef I have been busy cooking all over the bank holiday’s and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself, met some great people and had a laugh. The food that has been prepared for the guests was very well presented if I say so myself and my team of assistants were in the background making sure the finer details were not missed.

Tomorrow my team and I are traveling about one hours drive to cater for a Wedding Reception. The Bride to be and Groom booked us last year in 2010 and went for the Wedding Menu 5 which includes Canapés, my staff are to serve the drinks. The couple have gone for the Sirloin of Beef ( instead of the Hog Roast)which will be accompanied by my homemade Sauce, as well as all the other warm side dishes. This Wedding Menu also incorporates the day with the Evening Buffet so again we are there for the evening guests. The Couple have asked us to dress the tables with the linen and arrange the Wine and Water. It will be a long day as we will be up at the crack of dawn and a lot of planning has gone into making the food and our appearance exemplary. Like every event we are booked for we take pride in our food that we are serving and are always professional and keep that approach. I would not have it any other way, and my staff respect that.

The long weekends and good Friday weddings

Good morning everybody, Happy Friday to you all.  It’s Friday the 15th of April 2011 the sun might be shinning but at least its not raining today 🙂

For many of you the end of this week marks the last five day week for quite a while.  As we have so many bank holidays packed into this month and next most of you will be looking forward to some long weekends and some well earned time off.  However for the hog roast caterer team this is not possible as bank holidays are one of our busiest times so it will be all work and no play for us over the next few weeks.  Not that I am complaining as it shows business is doing well plus I love my job so I’m happy to put the hours in.

The first bank holiday event we have is a wedding on good Friday.  We will be cooking up our wedding catering treats for a local couple and their seventy guests that day.  They have chosen to have a nice relaxed informal buffet style feast.  This is becoming a more and more popular choice for wedding catering.  We are looking forward to cooking up a tasty hog roast and spit roasted whole salmon buffet.  After all its good Friday so following tradition we have included some fish into our fantastic wedding catering package.  Lets hope the weather stays nice for the happy couple!

Hope everybody has a great weekend and we will be back on Monday with another hog blog.

Weekend wedding catering in April

Good morning everyone its Monday once again and it feels like the weekend has flown by far too quickly!  But what a beautiful weekend it was, for once it seemed the whole country was treated to some glorious sunshine and clear skies.  Everybody definitely made the most of it, Every beer garden and park we past on our travellers was full of people enjoying the fantastic weather.  Our weekend was devoted to wedding catering.  Myself and my event team had three wedding catering jobs this weekend.  On Friday night we provided  one of our simple but scrumptious party menu options for an evening wedding reception.  Then on both Saturday we provided a full wedding catering service to a couple of newly weds and their guest.  The wedding was held at a beautiful country hotel.  We began the day by serving breakfast to the guest before the ceremony.  They feasted on premium sausages and bacon as well as fresh fruit salad.  After the couple had exchanged vows and photos had been done we served champagne cocktails and luxury canapés.  This was followed later by a beautiful three course meal sit down meal before the evening disco began.  In the early hours when the party was in full swing we also served up an evening bbq buffet.  It was a long day but also very enjoyable and successful.  Congratulations once again to Mr and Mrs Goldwell. Myself and the rest of the roast caterer team wish you a long and happy life together and it was an honour for us to do your wedding catering.

New and improved wedding menus coming soon

Happy Friday to all the hog roast caterer blog readers.  Before the weekends events begin we are in the office doing some work on our wedding menus.  Wedding catering is such a huge part of what we do and particularly in the Spring and Summer months wedding catering covers over 50 per cent of our work.  For this reason we want to make sure that the wedding menus, packages and services that we are offer are still relevant and up to high standards.  So today myself and the other chefs sat down and went through all of the wedding menus to see if we can make adjustments to offer an even better wedding catering service.  This will be an ongoing project for us over the next few weeks.  Using our own experience and customer feed back we will be discussing the possibilities of trying new ideas and maybe testing some new recopies so we can add extra choice to the menus.

So watch this space because our already fantastic menus are about to become even better!  We love wedding catering and so naturally the whole team is very excited about this new project.  For those who have tried and tasted our wedding menus in the past fear not we won’t be changing them too drastically the will still essentially have the great choice and taste of a good old hog roast caterer wedding menu.  Well time to get going better hit the road and get to the first hog roast event of the weekend.  Hope all of blog readers have a great weekend.

Two weddings and a hog roast

Good Morning Hog Roast Caterer bog readers, Its Thursday or as we like to call it in the office Friday eve!  The week has gone by so fast and I can’t believe its almost weekend again.  Once again the hog roast caterer team are going to extra busy this weekend with lots of wedding catering jobs.

Our first wedding catering job is on Saturday.  The happy couple have selected one of our supreme wedding menus with the full works.  Its a true banquet with everything you could wish for; canapés served with champagne, scrummy starters, a magnificent main course consisting of our tremendous spit roasted meats and all the trimmings, a selection of our home made sweet treats for desserts and in case anybody feels peckish after that fine feast later on we will be cooking up a an evening buffet full of barbecue treats.

Not all of our wedding catering menus are this elaborate though as we understand that each customer has different tastes and ideas for the perfect wedding catering.  On Sunday evening we have another wedding booked in and for this the couple have chosen a simple, informal menu.  We will be serving them one of our party menus; hog roast plus spit roasted lamb served buffet style with salads and potato wedges.  So whatever ideas you may have for your wedding catering the hog roast caterer team can meet your needs.  We love a good wedding catering job so don’t delay get in touch with us today.

Weekend wedding catering in March

Good afternoon hog roast caterer blog readers.  Its Thursday afternoon or as we like to call it here, Friday eve!  We are getting excited for the weekend as we have another wedding catering job on Saturday.  Here at hog roast caterer there is nothing we love more than catering for a wedding.  As we have now entered Spring its looking like we will be doing at least one wedding catering job every weekend until September.

Our wedding menus are full of variety and all are made using the best ingredients we can get our hog roasting hands on!  There are also great value for money which is why we have become such popular wedding caterers.

On Saturday it is quite a small wedding with just 40 family members and close friends attending.  The bride and groom wanted something simple and informal and served as a sit down meal. They opted for our wedding menu package which is a great choice.  Its a tasty sit down main meal consisting of one of our succulent meat roasts.  We have a huge variety to choose from but the future Mr and Mrs have selected the classic hog roast.  This will be served with all the trimmings such as roast potatoes with garlic and herbs, fresh seasonal vegetables, our special salad dishes and freshly baked bread rolls.  A true wedding feast!  I’m sure all the guests will enjoy and devour the wedding breakfast and wash it down with lots of champagne.  It dose not end there though as this wonderful meal will be  finished off with wedding cake as served as dessert. We will dress the wedding cake with fresh cream and seasonal fruits.

All this wedding catering talk is making me hungry, time to go home for my tea.

Chow for now hog roast caterer blog readers.

Spring and Summer season wedding catering

Wedding catering is one my favourite types of events to cater for.  Its such a happy and joyous occasion and also its the perfect opportunity for us to create our more elaborate and luxurious dishes to compliment our outstanding hog and other meat roasts.

As we are now entering the Spring and Summer season there will be many wedding catering events for myself and the rest of the hog roast caterer team to look forward to and I can’t wait!

We can do lavish wedding breakfast served as a formal sit down dinner with as many courses as you wish or we can provide a relaxed informal evening buffet that is tasty and satisfying.

Currently we are planning a wedding for the end of this month for the future Mr and Mrs Patterson.  Mr Patterson has been a loyal customer of ours for a number of years so we delighted to be helping him celebrate his big day.  The couple have chosen classic canapes to be served as their guests arrive and these will be washed down with the finest champagne served by our first class hog roast caterer staff.  The main course will be a feast to remember as we serve a hog roast with all the tasty trimmings for the wedding breakfast.  After this has been devoured we will dress the wedding cake with fresh cream and seasonal fruits and serve.

Finally as the evening celebrations are well under way we will prepare a buffet feast of bacon and sausages, quality bread rolls and sauces.  It looks set to be the perfect day with the perfect wedding catering.

Happy Hoggin

hog roast caterer team provide the perfect late summer wedding

This weekend we had the pleasure of catering for a wedding in a stately home.  It was a beautiful wedding and the happy couple had requested the full works for their guests on this special day.  100 members of their family and friends attended the big day and most of them were staying in the guest cottages surrounding the grounds of the stately home.  Before the wedding ceremony began we served all the guests who were staying over a very special breakfast including fresh fruit, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and tea and coffee to set everyone up for the day.

After the service we served tasty canapés and champagne to everyone before the main meal.  When we served the main sit down meal it was the wedding breakfast of the bride and grooms dreams we had worked closely with them to design their ideal menu which included, a traditional hog roast with all the trimmings plus a spit roasted lamb served with seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes.  To finish we served a selection of our irresistiable desserts.  It was a great day and congratulations to Mr and Mrs Blackwood
