Wonderful Weekend

Fabulous weekend we had at Hog Roast Cater, many smiling faces and full bellies. This weekend was rather a busy weekend for Hog Roast Caterer; we had a birthday party to attend to in Bristol, a wedding in Torquay, as well as other glorious events.

The Bristol Birthday party was enjoyed by all especially the birthday boy, his parents rang us up because they had loads of their son’s friends over and wanted to keep an eye on them and not have to worry about the food getting burnt. They heard about us from a friend, just like their friend they were delighted with the outcome. They wanted our Menu1: Spit Roasted Pig served with Apple Sauce, Sage and Onion Stuffing & Crispy Crackling served with Soft Floured Rolls. Which everyone thoroughly enjoyed and loved the food. Even the parents who came to pick up their children has some and loved every bit of it and enquired if we could do it for their kids party. The party was a huge success for us and for the Bristol birthday boy.

We travelled to Torquay, we got to the wedding nice and early and began arranging the tables and chairs, knifes forks and napkins. We set it all out beautifully and set up our grand hog roasting machines and started roasting. We was roasting two pigs one being spit roasted and another being hog roasted and we had another machine with chicken spit attachment holding 30 chickens. As the wedding guests and bride and groom came out of the wedding service they were amazed as to what was before them. Our Chefs could hear comments like wow that looks amazing and mmm that looks really tasty. We waited for a minute or two then began to carve up the meat on the spit roasted pig as the other chef started to cut up the chickens. Once the meat was on the plate we added some beautifully cooked Warm New Potatoes in Herb Butter plus with our freshly made salads. We was greatly complemented on the dish, the bride and groom want us for another event to try some of our other dishes on the menu, or even try some of our delightful canapés and scrumptious desserts.

Here at Hog Roast Caterer we love it when our customers are thrilled with the food and service, at the end of the day it is your special day and we want it to be special plus make it extra special.

Weather Conditions

Good morning its Thursday the 17th of November 2011 and time for another Hog Caterer Blog from here in the office. Well today we have been promised some sunshine with mild weather which is good news however we will also be receiving a few wintery showers later on this evening.

The weather does not really affect us in the slightest way possible here at hog roast caterer. We can cater no matter what the weather is like!

It is coming close to Christmas time now and clients that have booked early are calling the office worrying about the weather asking us questions like; if it rains will we still attend the event? The answer to this is yes of course!

as we supply our own covers and are able to cater whether it is rain or shine or even snow which is what people are concerned about.

We have been dealing with the snowy weather conditions for years so we are fully prepared for when the snow comes.

We understand that each customer has different ideas for the perfect wedding catering.  On Sunday evening we have another wedding booked in and for this the couple have chosen a simple, informal menu.  We will be serving them one of our party menus which is menu 3

Sailing the high seas with a hog roast

Hi hog blog readers! Hope you’re all well today! We know we’ll certainly be feeling great after the Hog Roast Caterer team get their dose of the great outdoors today! The event we’re catering for is not too far away today, only a 20 minute journey and it’s events like these that make you realise how lucky we are to never be too far away from beautiful scenery! Where are we going I hear you ask, well, we’re off to a gorgeous lake side event and it’s surrounded by rolling hills and moorland. But the event is not so peaceful, it’s for  a sailing club that uses the lake to practice sailing and various other watersports. Today sees various clubs from around the area meeting for a friendly race! We will be catering for all the clubs and their supporters which total a nice number of 80 guests for us in total. The races will be taking place all afternoon so with us being outside for this event, we’ll be able to catch a piece of the action, that it when we’re not busy cooking up some grub for everyone to dive into after they’ve finished. We’re just hoping the weather stays as nice as it is this morning, to keep all participants and spectators in high spirits because we’ve heard that when the people on the sidelines get wet, they’re not the happiest bunch! Although we’re pretty sure, whatever the weather that our hog roasts can cheer anyone up with them tasting so great!

An Olde English Hog Roast

Hi all you hog blog fans! Today I’m off out on a catering event with a difference. We all associate a hog roast  with traditional Britain, well this event is going to live  up that as it’s a medieval themed event!! People will be dressing up in medieval outfits, taking parts. It’s going to be like doing a bit of time travel as we step back into the middle ages as a real touch of olde England is added to the event. The organisers have really gone all out for their guests, complete with minstrels, jesters and strolling players this is an event we could miss out on as a hog roast is really the finishing touch! We’re not just doing our basic hog roast at this event – we too are going all out to lay on a banquet for the guests with potatoes and a variety of salads and side dishes and the pig roasting in the machine will look just the part! the events due to go on into the night with musicians and dancing planned until the early hours. There will be a few lessons for the dancing which we’re hoping we can get involved with as it’s something we’ve not tried before and we’re always wanting to try new things. It should be fun! I’m looking forward to seeing everyone all dressed up the most!
