Happy Hog Roast Customers

Happy Hog Roast Customers 🙂

Good afternoon everybody!  Its Thursday and its almost weekend! Hope you have all had a great day today.  I have received not one, not two but three thank you emails from happy hog roast customers today 🙂

Just wanted to say a big Thank you, so glad we booked with you. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer person to serve to our guests last Sunday. The Pig was truly delicious and we could see just how tender the meat was when you were carving it. My family and friends are still talking about it today.

Great feedback from our Customers, and its all down to the Hog Roast Caterer team.  You could not of done a better job.  I’m so impressed by the food that I simply can’t wait to book you again and eat some more!

Alice in Wonderland…with a hog roast!!

Good morning hog blog readers. It’s Tuesday the 2nd August 2011 today! I can’t believe how fast summer is going (although you wouldn’t think it was summer with all the grey clouds around!!). Today I thought I’d tell you about an event we’ve just taken a booking for. It’s taking place next month and it’s a 30th birthday party with a theme – the theme being Alice in Wonderland! We’re expecting to see Mad Hatters, White Rabbits and Cheshire Cats galore. The birthday girl is being Alice of course. Now it wouldn’t be Hog Roast Caterer style it we didn’t get involved with the action! I’m thinking of going as the Queen of Hearts and I’m going to persuade the chef to be a Jabberwock!!! They’ve opted for our simple hog roast package which includes fresh bread rolls, apple sauce, stuffing and obviously the hog roast which of course comes complete with everybody’s favourite crispy crackling. I’m already looking forward to this event as I love dressing up 🙂

As for the office side of things, we’re still busy taking enquiries as people anticipate this heat wave that we’re meant to be getting! Fingers crossed it arives so we can enjoy some al fresco catering and enjoy the last of Summer! Have a good day whatever you’re all up to. Until tomorrow…!

The art of hog roasting

It’s that time of day again for another exciting hog blog! Today I’m in the office doing all the usual tasks before setting off with the catering team to a local art gallery where artists have put together an exhibition with tonight being the opening night! This event is invite only as it opens properly to the public tomorrow and local business people and people from local art galleries have been invited for a sneak preview at the work. I’ve seen some photos of the exhibition already and I must say that it’s impressive! The organisers haven’t opted for a hog roast this time, instead they’ve gone for lamb which in my opinion almost rivals the hog roast as it does taste incredible once its been cooked and then teamed with mint and rosemary. Don’t forget that we don’t just do hog roasts even though we are Hog Roast Caterer, we can also cook, chicken, beef, turkey and lamb so if you don’t want a hog roast we can accommodate for that!

Anyway, it’s a great venue and to be amongst so many different types of art work is a pleasure, now it’s turn for us to do our art which is of course catering for your event providing excellent food for you and al your guests!

Ready…Steady…HOG!

Hi guys! I hope you’re sitting comfortably as it’s time for an update in the form of hog blog! It’s always good to take 5 minutes out of your busy day, get a biscuit and a brew and have a sit down to read our blog!

Well today I’m out writing this blog on location! It’s been an early start this morning and we’ve found ourselves setting up to start catering for a massive day of sporting activities! With only 12 months to go until the start of the London Olympics 2012 we thought there was no more fitting occasion. The people taking part are from all local schools in the area, it’s keeping the kids busy for a day in the summer holidays but it’s not just children that are getting involved, teachers and support staff will be taking part too. There’s proper athletics but also fun races like the three-legged race! We’ve said we’ll have a go at that, so I’ll be in the middle with one leg strapped to the chef the other to Suzy, a catering assistant. We thought we might as well join in with the fun so go team Hog!!

After the activities have dies down, everyone will be helping themselves to a delicious hog roast. With the Olympics taking part in London, there is no finer way than to celebrate with a hog roast as we use the best of British ingredients!

Fancy Dress Hog Roast

Good Morning Everybody and welcome to the first hog blog of a new week.  It Monday the 25th of July 2011 and we have had another busy weekend.  The highlight of the weekend for myself was a lovely fancy dress that we catered for on Saturday evening.

The location of the party was not too far away from us its always nice to do local events and catch up with previous customers and see some familiar faces.  This party was being held to celebrate a 21st birthday party and the birthday girl has insisted on a fancy dress theme for all attending…… even myself and the rest of the catering team!  The fancy dress theme was music heroes and everybody dressed up as their favourite musician or performer.  We were more than happy to get into the spirit of the party and dress up as well.  It was myself another hog roast caterer chef and a catering assistant on this event and we dressed up as our favourite musical heroes.  It must have been quite a sight to see Elvis, Michael Jackson and Madonna cooking carving and serving up a hog roast!  It was certainly a fun event and the guests were very happy with the simple hog roast feast.  Perfectly spit roasted pork served in-between soft bread rolls with plenty of stuffing and special apple sauce.

F1 and A Hog Roast = Perfect Sunday

Hi there everyone! It’s time for the final and latest Hog Roast Caterer news installment of the week. We’re hyping ourselves up for the German Grand Prix taking place this Sunday! We’ve been booked as somebody has made it an excuse to have some friends round, get the F1 on a big screen and have a hog roast! We think it’s a brilliant idea, watching those fabulous cars zoom round the track whilst munching down a hog roast that’s been cooked for hours, what could be better? Hopefully, Lewis Hamilton will make it a hat trick and win for his third time at Nurburgring! We’re already excited to be able to watch bits of the racing as we prepare and cook a delicious hog roast for everyone!

We’ve also got loads of hires going out this weekend too, they seem keen to turn their own hand to a bit of hog roasting! We’ve given them a few tips and tricks so that they can make it extra tasty.

We hope you have a good weekend whatever it is that you’re up to! Maybe watch a bit of the Grand Prix then you can join us in spirit at one of our events?

Satisfaction

Hello there Hog Roast Caterer fans! Hope you’re all well this Tuesday morning!

Last night the Hog Roast Catering teams were having a bit of a break from their busy weekend so I thought I’d tell you a bit about another event we catered for over the weekend. Hog Roast Caterer were busy up North at a College reunion! It was the 30th anniversary that the college had held and it was such a good turn out with people from all generations turning out from all corners of the country to meet up with old friends. Some keep in touch, others not at all but it’s amazing that even the people you didn’t really used to talk to when you were at college, you seem to talk to now, reminiscing about old times and teachers and what mischief you all got up to. It was great to be a part of that event, it had such a nostalgic feel to it. And of course, as usual, everyone loved the hog roast that our chef expertly cooked, carved and served to a hungry bunch of ex-students. For those who don’t know, our chefs prepare everything on site, fresh on the day of the event so that we can ensure the fullest of flavours and the highest quality of food and it means we can provide you with the most satisfying of meals.

It’s busy in the office today, we’ve only a couple of slots available for this weekend so if you’re fancying a hog roast for your event this weekend, get your enquiry into the office so we can fit you in!

My First Hog Roast Event

Well where haven’t we been this weekend?! We’ve been down to the south coast and up in Scotland this weekend, plus many places in between!

This weekend, I was lucky enough to be out with the catering team, normally I’m in the office dealing with the more paper side of the business but not this weekend! I went with the extremely experienced catering team to set up for an engagement party. The thought they’d break me in slowly – only 100 guests but when you’re a only a novice that’s an awful lot of people!!  Anyway, it was lovely to see the young couple all loved up and celebrating their news with all their friends and family! It took me a while to get into the hang of what I was doing but once I got going I was fine and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! In fact I had such a god time that I’ll be doing it all again next weekend on another event as the catering team have invited me along for another! It was great to see the team in action, it’s truly impressive what they do, the site and smell on them preparing the food and roasting the hog are incredible and create a fab atmosphere. I’m already excited for next weekend but for now it’s back t the office to sort out bookings so that I can keep going on the events!!

End Of An Era…… Graduation Day

Good afternoon Hog Roast blog followers. Hope you’re all fine and dandy this fine day! Not long until we can start getting excited for the weekend! We’re already counting down until Friday and the start of the weekend.

We had an exciting day yesterday as we were catering for a graduation reception at a University. We arrived early so as it was a city we’d never had a chance to look around properly as we’ve always been so rushed for time. It was great to get a proper feel for the place and the city was alive as there were so many students dressed in their caps and gowns with families waiting to go into the city hall for the ceremony.

Afterwards the reception was held in an art gallery right in the city centre. As people came in they were greeted with a nice chilled glass of prosecco and canapés to kick off the celebrations. Family, lecturers and extremely recent graduates were all welcome to celebrate the end of one era and the start of the next. We were really busy as at lunchtime we were providing a sit down three course meal for the students and families before the actual ceremony then we had just a couple of hours before we had a different group of people for a traditional hog roast with salad and potatoes. We were on the go all day but it was a great sight seeing families in their best attire all looking very proud of their sons, daughters, sisters, boyfriends etc on their special day.

Care Home’s Birthday Hog Roast

Hi everyone! We’re having another busy day here today at Hog Roast Caterer, people can’t seem to get enough of our delicious food! Today we’re sending a team off to a local care home who are celebrating their 1st birthday! We’ll be feeding everyone from residents, to staff plus all their family as they’re all invited! From speaking to the organizers, there’s going to be such a buzz around the whole event as everyone’s really excited for some hog roast sandwiches! Some residents have been worried that we might forget the apple sauce but rest assured we’ve got it covered. With all the trimmings already sorted we know their going to really have a god time!

Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that the weather brightens up a bit so everyone can get some fresh air and enjoy the new garden area that the care home has just had landscaped. The official opening of the garden is going to be tonight too with the Mayor coming to cut the ribbon! We’ve seen the photos and it’s fantastic! All the flowers are out, there’s a new water feature, people have donated new benches, it’s had a total revamp with a nice new area which gets the sun (when it’s out!) until late in the evening, I know everyone’s looking forward to getting the use out of it! It’s a great pleasure to be one of the first one’s in there cooking everyone some great food!
