I feel sorry for our caterers in this weather!!!

Morning once again from our headquarters. As all our readers are probably aware that our caterers cater many events come rain or shine. Today is one of the wet and wild days and I am nice and warm indoors unlike our caterers that are busy attending all your events.

We have a number of Menu’s on offer;

1: Party Menu 1

This includes a Chef, Machine, pig which is cooked on site. All the rolls and Apple sauce and crispy crackling.

2: Party Menu 2

This option gives you the choice of Meats- we understand that not everyone likes Pig!! Within this Menu you can choose one of either Pig, Lamb, Turkey, Beef, Chicken, sausages, Kebabs. Again they all come with their own sauces to accompany the tastes and rolls.

3: Party Menu 3

This is a Pig with added extras like crisp salads or vegetables and warm new potatoes.

4: Party Menu 4

This Menu includes real crockery, serving tables and napkins. You can choose from one of the meats, three salads or vegetables, then one potatoe option. With all the rolls and sauces.

5: Party Menu 5

This starts with a choice of Canapés, then choose two meats and again the sauces and rolls and salads and Potatoes. With this Menu you also have Desserts to choose from.

6: Party Menu 6

This is the same as Menu 5 but with a Starter option also.

Do not forget that you can chop and changed our Menu to suit yourself. Menu 2-6 has a Vegetarian Alternative too!!

Day in the life of a hog roast caterer: bookings and festival food

Good afternoon hog blog readers.  It’s Matthew here, one of the hog roast caterers and I am going to share what the day has in store for me.

I hope you are all well and you are having a fantastic Tuesday afternoon! Its a typical Tuesday for this hog roast caterer and I am chasing potential customers to see if they are happy with the catering quotations that have received from us.  I am having a very good day so far as I have confirmed three more bookings this morning.  All three of them are for events next month and myself and other members of the team will be providing the catering.  One of these bookings is for a large music festival that I have attended in the past so I am especially excited about this one.

In fact I am off for a meeting with a team of organisers for the festival this afternoon.  They have requested a simple hog roast menu for the general public who are attending the festival and also we are honoured to be cooking up some more elaborate menus to be served to the stars backstage!  We are off to the meeting now to finalise menus and details.  We will also be taking samples dishes so the organisers can experience our tasty treats first hand.  We will keep you updated on the developments of this exciting event.

Better get going we wont to arrive there in plenty of time and make a good impression.  Another member of the team will back tomorrow with more hog roast catering stories.

Busy bank holiday weekend for a hog roast caterer

Hello hog blog readers, hope you have all had a great long weekend.  Did you watch the Royal wedding?  I got to enjoy snippets of it myself on a big screen as I slaved away at one of the many street parties myself and the other hog roast chefs catered at.  As a hog roast caterer it was a non stop long weekend!  Here’s a little journal of work over the four day holiday.  Its true what they say…….. A hog roast caterer’ s work is never done!

Friday – I catered at four different street parties throughout the day.  The first three enjoyed a hg roast whilst the last evening street party opted for a BBQ menu

Saturday – It was a pleasure to be the main hog roast caterer at a colleagues wedding.  One of the office girls tied the knot and we cooked up a tremendous hog roast fest for her special wedding breakfast

Sunday – Sunday was the busiest day of the entire weekend.  I had many machines hires to deliver, a lunch time event and two hog roasts for private parties in the evening.

Monday – Just one event today but it was one of our largest with over 3000 people to feed throughout the day.  It was a food and drink festival celebrating British food and drink.  The organisers had asked us to have plenty of food available for the attendee’s all day long so  we cooked up a few of our award winning hog roasts as well as burgers and sausages and served these throughout the day to the hungry.

A Tuesday in the life of a hog roast caterer

So its Tuesday morning in the hog roast caterer office and I would like to say Good morning to all of our old and new customers and devoted hog blog readers.  Hope you are all having a fantastic day so far.  It looks as if the sun has decided to make a reappearance so fingers crossed we will have another beautiful day like we did at the weekend 🙂

Friday nights and Saturdays and Sundays tend to be our busiest time with most of our events taking place on these days.  However during Spring and Summer we get more and more enquiries and bookings for mid week events.  So hopefully as we move into next month we will be cooking at events seven days a week….There’s no rest for a hog roast caterer!

Today I don’t have any events to cater for but its still quite a hectic day for me.  A hog roast caterer always has many tasks to complete.  My first job is too visit the local farmers market to stock on some fresh tasty apples so I can whip up another batch of my secret recipe apple sauce, then I’m off to visit a client and do a site visit for a wedding that we will be doing next month, after that I’m off to buy new crockery for our events.  Many people planning functions now request real crockery for their food so I’m going to stock up and make sure we have plenty as we have a very large formal event at the end of this week.  By the time I have done all this it will be time for this hog roast caterer to sit down with a well earned cup of tea.

A day in the life of a hog roast caterer (part 2)

Hello there to all of our hog roast caterer blog readers.  Hope you are all well and having a fantastic day despite the miserable weather 🙁

My name is Gav and I am one of the younger members of the hog roast catering team.  I have been working as a hog roast caterer for about three years now and I absolutely love my job.  No two days of the week are ever the same, there is always lots to do and as I love working with others and have a true passion for creating quality, tasty food this is the job for me.

Today my main task as a hog roast caterer is a site visit.  A site visit is where we go and see the potential customer’s at their desired venue and discuss with them how we would set up and serve on the day.  I am meeting a couple today at a near by country hotel.  They are considering hiring our services for their wedding catering next Summer, they are very interested in our menus and happy with the quote we have sent them so today its up to me to impress and seal the deal!

I will be taking along some samples of our menus for them to taste and will be able to discuss with them in length exactly what we will do to make their special day hassle free.  So I had better get going because this hog roast caterer does not want to be late for such an important meeting.  Chow for now hog blog readers

Friday Eve piggy blog

Its Thursday once again or as we like to call it FRIDAY EVE!! That’s right almost weekend once again which means our busiest two days of the week are about to begin!  I personally can’t wait to hit the road of start this weekend events.  Its what I love most about being a hog roast caterer.  I have been lucky enough to book some time off this weekend but the rest of the team are booked up with hog roast events which is great for the month of March.  So lets take a look at what’s on the agenda this weekend………………  First event will be tomorrow night a lovely private party just down the road from the hog roast caterer office.  Its a joint birthday celebration Mother and daughter are celebrating their mile stone birthdays together (50th and 21st) and have dedcided to enjoy a hog roast at their party.  They have invited over 180 guests between them so as well as roasting a full hog we are also taking several balled and rolled joints as well to ensure that there is plenty of piggy for all the hungry party goers!

Saturday morning its a very early start as we have to be up early to begin another tasty hog roast and make sure everything is cooked to perfection and ready for a lunch time serve.  This event is a local sports event.  A couple of local rugby teams are holding a special fund raising match and we are more than happy to be providing them and their spectators  with a tasty pork roll at half time.  Unusually I have no events booked in for Saturday night or Sunday so I will be having a well deserved rest and perhaps a couple of cheeky beers before another action packed week begins again for this hog roast caterer.

Happy hog roast caterer :)

Hello everybody welcome to Tuesday’s blog.  Hope you are all well and having a wonderful day.  I am certainly a happy little hog roaster caterer today 🙂 not only is the weather fantastic with bright clear sky’s and a warm breeze but business is booming at the moment and I can’t stop smiling to myself.  Bookings are already coming in for the Summer months as everyone’s starts to finalize their events, parties and plans for the warmer months.  I also have a small event to do this afternoon at a local school and I’m really looking forward to that.  The children at this school are learning about medieval times so we are doing a hog roast for them to show how this method was done traditionally in the olden times.  Of course afterwards each child will also get to try one of our fabulous pork rolls as a little snack before they go home for their tea.  The weekend coming up is also packed with lots of different styles of events so once again I will be a very busy but very, very happy hog roast caterer.  Life is good 🙂

Hog roast caterer wednesday blog

Half way there!!

Plenty of  Hog Roasts already cooked and plenty more still to do.

Today in the office we are just chasing up booking our Customer’s in, and steadily away selling our Hog Roast machines. We have a offer on at the moment all throughout March on some of our Machines which seems to be going down a treat.

This week already we have replied to all our Customer’s wanting prices for some of our Menus or they have been simply telling us what sort of Menu they are after and we have been working around them and pricing them up. This is why we do not have any set prices on the Website as each event is different and catered for each individual need.

As the Summer is fast approaching, we are also busy taking machine enquiries for parts that may have been damaged or that are just now worn. The parts manager has been rushed off his feet liaising with our factory depot to issue out all the parts required throughout the UK and even over sea’s. I guess these customers are getting all their Titan or Zeus Machines in tip top condition so they are able to cater their own events. We also Hire out our machines with or without the Pig, where we deliver, collect and provide the gas needed to cook with. So we do a number of things here at Hog Roast Caterer.

Summer hog roast events

Afternoon to all of our readers

Well this week has been absolutely manic, taking calls, calling customer’s back, finalizing bookings and also dealing with any Menu’s requested and Hog Roast hire’s. We are very busy on the machine front with a Mega March discount on machines. We are travelling the UK promoting them and also using this as a see before you buy. It looks as though customers and caterers are getting all geared up for the summer months to come so they are ready for the functions, as most are also calling to order new parts for their machines they have already purchased from us in previous months.

We are having a lot of ‘pig in a bun’ requests for the Royal wedding that will shortly be upon us. Customers are having street parties to celebrate so we are working out their preferred Menu’s. We are also fully booked up in certain areas of the UK so this year should be a good one for Business. We always try to cater every event our customers ask for but sometimes at such short notice we are unable to attend. So if you have not contacted us it is very easy and then we can check our availability on your specific day.

The sun has been glaring through the windows in the office today, unlike yesterday which was miserable. Tomorrow is the start of the weekend and many a catered event will be continuing throughout the weekend. So on that note look out for an update tomorrow where we shall be sharing more of our news with you

A day in the life of a hog roast caterer

Good afternoon its Dave here one of the hog roast caterer team and its another busy day for me!  Its a typical Tuesday today, no many events take place through the week so I get a chance to catch up with the other aspects of hog roasting.  So today I’ve got a lot of jobs to get done.  First on the list is a trip to the farmers market to stock up on some tasty fresh fruit and vegetables to make up some of our home made sauces and scrummy salads.  I visit the same farmers market every week as there produce is such fantastic quality and we only get the best for our customers!

Then I’ll be heading back to hog roast caterer headquarters to give the machines used yesterday a good clean so they will be sparkling clean and good as new ready to go for the next job we have.  We used two of our machines yesterday at an event at a local school.  We fed over 200 people so that’s quite of lot of pig fat to remove lots of elbow grease will be required!

After this is done its off to a beautiful country hotel where I have a meeting with the events co-ordinator there to discuss some events we will be catering for there in the Summer.  So a very busy Tuesday for me today! As a member of the hog roast caterer team I love my job and enjoy keeping busy and working hard so its going to be a great day for me.
