Fancy Dress Hog Roast

Good Morning Everybody and welcome to the first hog blog of a new week.  It Monday the 25th of July 2011 and we have had another busy weekend.  The highlight of the weekend for myself was a lovely fancy dress that we catered for on Saturday evening.

The location of the party was not too far away from us its always nice to do local events and catch up with previous customers and see some familiar faces.  This party was being held to celebrate a 21st birthday party and the birthday girl has insisted on a fancy dress theme for all attending…… even myself and the rest of the catering team!  The fancy dress theme was music heroes and everybody dressed up as their favourite musician or performer.  We were more than happy to get into the spirit of the party and dress up as well.  It was myself another hog roast caterer chef and a catering assistant on this event and we dressed up as our favourite musical heroes.  It must have been quite a sight to see Elvis, Michael Jackson and Madonna cooking carving and serving up a hog roast!  It was certainly a fun event and the guests were very happy with the simple hog roast feast.  Perfectly spit roasted pork served in-between soft bread rolls with plenty of stuffing and special apple sauce.

F1 and A Hog Roast = Perfect Sunday

Hi there everyone! It’s time for the final and latest Hog Roast Caterer news installment of the week. We’re hyping ourselves up for the German Grand Prix taking place this Sunday! We’ve been booked as somebody has made it an excuse to have some friends round, get the F1 on a big screen and have a hog roast! We think it’s a brilliant idea, watching those fabulous cars zoom round the track whilst munching down a hog roast that’s been cooked for hours, what could be better? Hopefully, Lewis Hamilton will make it a hat trick and win for his third time at Nurburgring! We’re already excited to be able to watch bits of the racing as we prepare and cook a delicious hog roast for everyone!

We’ve also got loads of hires going out this weekend too, they seem keen to turn their own hand to a bit of hog roasting! We’ve given them a few tips and tricks so that they can make it extra tasty.

We hope you have a good weekend whatever it is that you’re up to! Maybe watch a bit of the Grand Prix then you can join us in spirit at one of our events?

Beach Wedding

Hi everybody its time for another blog from the Spitting Pig team.  So why not make yourself a tea or coffee sit back, relax and take five minutes out of your hectic day to catch up with the Spitting Pig team.

My name is Cassie and I am one of the hog roast catering chefs and today its my turn to bring you another excellent blog.  Its Thursday the 21st of July 2011 and I have just returned from our factory where our hog roast machine are designed, manufactured and sent out.  I like to visit the factory whenever I get the chances to keep up to date with the changes and developments in the industry and its always great to talk business with the hog roast machine team.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting up with Garth, our leading design technician.  Garth (known to many as the machine magician…. and not because of his card tricks but because his machines work like pure magic!) is expert in the hog roast machine industry and has won the company several awards thanks to his amazing engineering skills and extensive knowledge of the industry.  He has also designed personalised hog roast machines for some top names in the catering industry as well as some A list celebrity chefs.  What Garth doesn’t know about hog roast machines isn’t worth knowing so its always great to hear his thoughts and ideas as well as get feedback on how the machine side of the business is growing and developing.

BBQ Catering At School Sports Day

BBQ Catering At School Sports Day

Hello and welcome to the latest hog blog.  Its Wednesday and we are already half way through the week and fast approaching another busy, event filled, catering extravaganza of a weekend but before we get there lets tackle the mid week event that are booked in for today’s hectic schedule.

This evening several members of the team will be hitting the roads and driving out and about to deliver  machine to our hire customers.  It seems the cooler weather is not putting people off and nothing is going to stand in the way of our customers and their hog roasting fun!

The afternoon I have a bbq catering event to at a private school not too far from us.  Its the schools annual sports day and after all the fun races and games have been completed the pupils, teachers and proud parents will get to feast on one of our tasty bbq menu packages.  We are provided premium pork and apple sausages, Aberdeen Angus beef burgers and marinated chicken burgers.  For the animal lovers present there will be a selection of salads as well as quorn burgers and Mediterranean veggie kebabs.  We also be serving hot and cold beverages.  Whilst it may not be the warmest of daystoday at least it is dry and bright so lets keep our fingers crossed it stays the way this afternoon so that the sports day is not cancelled and the sack race, egg and spoon race, three legged race and all other sports day traditions can ahead.

Satisfaction

Hello there Hog Roast Caterer fans! Hope you’re all well this Tuesday morning!

Last night the Hog Roast Catering teams were having a bit of a break from their busy weekend so I thought I’d tell you a bit about another event we catered for over the weekend. Hog Roast Caterer were busy up North at a College reunion! It was the 30th anniversary that the college had held and it was such a good turn out with people from all generations turning out from all corners of the country to meet up with old friends. Some keep in touch, others not at all but it’s amazing that even the people you didn’t really used to talk to when you were at college, you seem to talk to now, reminiscing about old times and teachers and what mischief you all got up to. It was great to be a part of that event, it had such a nostalgic feel to it. And of course, as usual, everyone loved the hog roast that our chef expertly cooked, carved and served to a hungry bunch of ex-students. For those who don’t know, our chefs prepare everything on site, fresh on the day of the event so that we can ensure the fullest of flavours and the highest quality of food and it means we can provide you with the most satisfying of meals.

It’s busy in the office today, we’ve only a couple of slots available for this weekend so if you’re fancying a hog roast for your event this weekend, get your enquiry into the office so we can fit you in!

My First Hog Roast Event

Well where haven’t we been this weekend?! We’ve been down to the south coast and up in Scotland this weekend, plus many places in between!

This weekend, I was lucky enough to be out with the catering team, normally I’m in the office dealing with the more paper side of the business but not this weekend! I went with the extremely experienced catering team to set up for an engagement party. The thought they’d break me in slowly – only 100 guests but when you’re a only a novice that’s an awful lot of people!!  Anyway, it was lovely to see the young couple all loved up and celebrating their news with all their friends and family! It took me a while to get into the hang of what I was doing but once I got going I was fine and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! In fact I had such a god time that I’ll be doing it all again next weekend on another event as the catering team have invited me along for another! It was great to see the team in action, it’s truly impressive what they do, the site and smell on them preparing the food and roasting the hog are incredible and create a fab atmosphere. I’m already excited for next weekend but for now it’s back t the office to sort out bookings so that I can keep going on the events!!

Busy Thursday For The Hog Roast Caterers

Another day in the Hog Roast Caterer office, and once again its been a very busy one so far.  The phone has been ringing of the hook with last minute enquiries and bookings for this weekend.  I think all of our customers have heard about the heat wave which we may getting over the weekend and have decided to make the most of it by gathering with friends and family outdoors and tucking into one of our fantastic meat roasts or BBQs.  If you haven’t already enquired yourself then I suggest you do pretty fast as all the hog roast catering teams are almost fully booked for Saturday and Sunday!!

In between sorting out these bookings for our clients I have also been out delivering hog roast machines to our machine hire customers and visited our local farmers market to stock up on some fresh fruit ands veggies which will be used in our home made sauces and to create our tasty salads.  Its been a hectic day and once the office shuts a five I am looking forward to having a long rest and early night before the busy weekend begins.  With all these last minute catering jobs booked on I think this weekend could be the busiest of 2011 so far!!!

End Of An Era…… Graduation Day

Good afternoon Hog Roast blog followers. Hope you’re all fine and dandy this fine day! Not long until we can start getting excited for the weekend! We’re already counting down until Friday and the start of the weekend.

We had an exciting day yesterday as we were catering for a graduation reception at a University. We arrived early so as it was a city we’d never had a chance to look around properly as we’ve always been so rushed for time. It was great to get a proper feel for the place and the city was alive as there were so many students dressed in their caps and gowns with families waiting to go into the city hall for the ceremony.

Afterwards the reception was held in an art gallery right in the city centre. As people came in they were greeted with a nice chilled glass of prosecco and canapés to kick off the celebrations. Family, lecturers and extremely recent graduates were all welcome to celebrate the end of one era and the start of the next. We were really busy as at lunchtime we were providing a sit down three course meal for the students and families before the actual ceremony then we had just a couple of hours before we had a different group of people for a traditional hog roast with salad and potatoes. We were on the go all day but it was a great sight seeing families in their best attire all looking very proud of their sons, daughters, sisters, boyfriends etc on their special day.

Perfect BBQ Provided By The Hog Roast Caterers

Good morning everybody and welcome to another hog blog.  Its Tuesday the 12th of July 2011 and now we are well into the Summer months there is one thing that seems to be on everybody’s mind……. BBQ season!

Once the lighter, warmer evenings begin to make an appearance the British can’t resist a good old BBQ.  And its easy to see why after all there nothing quite like eating outside in the sun, chatting with friends and family and sampling some tasty BBQ classics washed down with a couple of ice cold beers.  Whilst this seems like the perfect scene doing your own BBQ is not always as easy as it looks.  For those of you who may have attempted to cook your own BBQ you probably know how stressful and time consuming it can be.  So for your next BBQ why not follow in the footsteps of our catering customers and let us do the hard work for you.

We have done some fantastic BBQ’s already this Summer and can’t wait to do lots more for our customers.  This weekend alone we did four BBQ catering jobs in our local area.  The last one was on Sunday afternoon and was a small family party with just 30 people.  We cooked a nice simple BBQ for them consisting of quality beef burgers, premium sausages and our special veggie burgers.  Served up with an assortment of bread rolls and sauces our BBQ catering went down a treat and the family have asked to return next month and cook up another BBQ feast to help them celebrate their eldest daughters engagement.  Of course we were delighted to accept and have already began working on extra special BBQ menu for them.

Weekend Of Wedding Catering

Good morning everybody!  Its Monday again so back to work for most of you boooooooo!  But never mind before you begin the first day of the working week the Hog Roast Caterer team are here to cheer you up, So make yourself a tea or coffee and take a five minute break whilst you catch up with our latest blog and find out what adventure we got up to this weekend!

Its certainly been a wedding catering this weekend for myself and the my catering team.  We have catered two large weddings in 48 hours and both chose our fine dining luxury wedding packages.  Both opted for the traditional sit down three course meal incorporating the hog roast as the main.

The first wedding was in a beautiful castle in the countryside.  The bride and groom and their 100 guests enjoyed a starter of home made soup, a main of hog roast and all the trimmings, followed by wedding cake as dessert.

The second weeding was at a beautiful private location by a lake and the happy couple plus 200 of their nearest and dearest feasted on luxury Indian style canapés and champagne as they arrived.  The sit down meal began with a delish seafood starter and the main included a perfect hog roast plus a spit roasted lamb served with Mediterranean style vegetables and salads.  To finish the wedding party enjoyed our home made cheesecake and for those being good we had the option of fresh fruit salad.

It was a great weekend for our wedding catering business 🙂
