Next Weeks Wedding Menu

Good Morning everybody!  Its Tuesday the 9th of August 2011 and I’m here to tell you all about the wonderful wedding catering that I will be providing next weekend.  I am so excited about this event as I have just met up with the soon to be Mr and Mrs and we have finalised their menu for the big day which is this Saturday.

The couple want to enjoy a three course sit down meal for their wedding breakfast and this is what we have created together:

STARTER:  Smoked Salmon or veggie option of garlic mushrooms

MAIN: One of our wonderful hog roasts, along with one of our spit roasted lambs, Quorn meat also served as a veggie alternative, seasonal vegetables and roasted potatoes.

Dessert: Wedding cake served with fresh cream and summer fruits

Once the evening party is in full swing the couple has requested a hot evening buffet so we will be doing one of our famous Hog roast caterer BBQs and serving up sausages, burgers, hot dogs and marinated chicken wings.  We will also be doing chips and providing plenty of bread rolls plus of wide selection of sauces and relishes to really compliment the bbq food.

I am really pleased with the final menu and like the happy couple am looking forward to Saturday 🙂

A Busy Weekend For The Hog Roaster

Hello to all the hog blog readers, another week has begun and it seems everybody has got those old Monday morning blues.  But don’t worry because the hog roast caterer team is here with another hog blog to cheer you up.  So sit back and relax, take a five minute break out of your busy day and find out what the hog roast caterer team has been up to over yet another busy weekend………………….

This weekend we have catered two weddings, one naming ceremony, a 21st birthday, an engagement party and a golden wedding anniversary.  That little lot was done by me and my catering team and the other catering teams were also kept very busy with lots of their own events.

This weekend my team has cooked, prepared and served up; six pigs, two lambs, ten turkeys, fifty burgers, one hundred sausages, almost one thousand bread rolls and endless supplies of salads and potatoes.

The best part of the weekend was knowing that every customer we catered and all their guests were more than happy with the party that we provided 🙂 Its been another successful weekend of events and I’m already looking forward to the next.

Give hog roasting a go yourself!

Good morning to all you hog blog readers wherever you are in the world! Well it’s a beautiful Friday morning (but we’ve heard it’s not going to last) and we’re busy out and about today! We’re fully booked this weekend with catering events and this has meant that people were a tad late booking us have decided to hire our machines instead so today we’re off out delivering them so they get their use this weekend. Of course we do primarily offer our catering service as it is what we do best but as a n alternative we do very frequently hire out our machines as a DIY option. This weekend will see many people doing their own very first hog roast by themselves. We  will drop off the machine and show you exactly what you’re doing in terms of setting it up and we’ll give you a few hints and tips so that you know what you’re doing and so that it tastes almost as good as the ones we do!! We’ll include the gas to power your machine and then we’ll pick it up after your event. Of course it’s not as hassle free as when we cater for your event but t is a sure way of impressing your guests. As if the visuals and aromas aren’t enough, you’re guests arrive to see you in the driving seat. Why not give it a go yourself and put your culinary skills to the test and hire one of our machines for yourself!

Happy Hog Roast Customers

Happy Hog Roast Customers 🙂

Good afternoon everybody!  Its Thursday and its almost weekend! Hope you have all had a great day today.  I have received not one, not two but three thank you emails from happy hog roast customers today 🙂

Just wanted to say a big Thank you, so glad we booked with you. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer person to serve to our guests last Sunday. The Pig was truly delicious and we could see just how tender the meat was when you were carving it. My family and friends are still talking about it today.

Charity Hog Roast

Good Morning hope you are all sitting comfortably because it time for another hog blog from the hog roast caterers.  Its Wednesday the 3rd of August 2011 and I am getting particularly excited for an event I have booked in this evening.  This event is a large scale public event with over three thousand people attending!  Needless to say that is a lot of pigs I shall be roasting this evening.  Due to the scale of the event I am taking a large team of hog roast caterers, catering assistants and serving staff with me.  Together I’m sure we will create a great catering service that everybody will enjoy.

The event is being held to raise money for a local hospice and also in memory of many who spent their final days there.  Its a big honour to be asked to do this and its a cause that’s close to hearts of many of the team so we are proud to be taking part and doing our bit for the charity.

There will be lots and lots of activates at the event but the main focus will be on the sports tournament that is taking place.  Good luck to all those competing and whether you come first, second or even last don’t forget to come and see me or one of the other hog roast caterers after so you can enjoy a tasty hog roast sandwich whilst you celebrate / commiserate.  We have enough hogs, apple sauce, stuffing and rolls to make thousands and thousands of tasty pork sandwiches so come and get yours!

Alice in Wonderland…with a hog roast!!

Good morning hog blog readers. It’s Tuesday the 2nd August 2011 today! I can’t believe how fast summer is going (although you wouldn’t think it was summer with all the grey clouds around!!). Today I thought I’d tell you about an event we’ve just taken a booking for. It’s taking place next month and it’s a 30th birthday party with a theme – the theme being Alice in Wonderland! We’re expecting to see Mad Hatters, White Rabbits and Cheshire Cats galore. The birthday girl is being Alice of course. Now it wouldn’t be Hog Roast Caterer style it we didn’t get involved with the action! I’m thinking of going as the Queen of Hearts and I’m going to persuade the chef to be a Jabberwock!!! They’ve opted for our simple hog roast package which includes fresh bread rolls, apple sauce, stuffing and obviously the hog roast which of course comes complete with everybody’s favourite crispy crackling. I’m already looking forward to this event as I love dressing up 🙂

As for the office side of things, we’re still busy taking enquiries as people anticipate this heat wave that we’re meant to be getting! Fingers crossed it arives so we can enjoy some al fresco catering and enjoy the last of Summer! Have a good day whatever you’re all up to. Until tomorrow…!

A first taste of Hog Roast

What a week! It’s my first week here at Hog Roast Caterer and I really have been thrown in at the deep end! I’ve been working in the office this week but with people off on holidays and the odd person being off sick, I’ve had so much on my plate. In a way it’s a good thing as it’s meant I’ve got a real grasp about what Hog Roast Caterer are all about! I’ve been dealing with enquiries coming in for menus and then people wanting to hire machines, I’ve even dabbled in the parts side of things but I figured that’s probably something better left to the experts that work here, seeing as I’ve only seen a machine once before, although the guess the parts of the machine game I played on my break sure gave me an idea about how these magnificent machines work. It may have been a hectic week but I’ve loved every minute.

On the catering side of things we’ve got loads going on this weekend as we’re in the midst of our busiest season. I must say I can’t blame people for wanting a hog roast! After trying one on my first day people don’t know what they’re missing! I’ve had hog roasts before but Hog Roast Caterer are on to a winner here! Have a good weekend hog blog readers! Over and out.

The art of hog roasting

It’s that time of day again for another exciting hog blog! Today I’m in the office doing all the usual tasks before setting off with the catering team to a local art gallery where artists have put together an exhibition with tonight being the opening night! This event is invite only as it opens properly to the public tomorrow and local business people and people from local art galleries have been invited for a sneak preview at the work. I’ve seen some photos of the exhibition already and I must say that it’s impressive! The organisers haven’t opted for a hog roast this time, instead they’ve gone for lamb which in my opinion almost rivals the hog roast as it does taste incredible once its been cooked and then teamed with mint and rosemary. Don’t forget that we don’t just do hog roasts even though we are Hog Roast Caterer, we can also cook, chicken, beef, turkey and lamb so if you don’t want a hog roast we can accommodate for that!

Anyway, it’s a great venue and to be amongst so many different types of art work is a pleasure, now it’s turn for us to do our art which is of course catering for your event providing excellent food for you and al your guests!

Ready…Steady…HOG!

Hi guys! I hope you’re sitting comfortably as it’s time for an update in the form of hog blog! It’s always good to take 5 minutes out of your busy day, get a biscuit and a brew and have a sit down to read our blog!

Well today I’m out writing this blog on location! It’s been an early start this morning and we’ve found ourselves setting up to start catering for a massive day of sporting activities! With only 12 months to go until the start of the London Olympics 2012 we thought there was no more fitting occasion. The people taking part are from all local schools in the area, it’s keeping the kids busy for a day in the summer holidays but it’s not just children that are getting involved, teachers and support staff will be taking part too. There’s proper athletics but also fun races like the three-legged race! We’ve said we’ll have a go at that, so I’ll be in the middle with one leg strapped to the chef the other to Suzy, a catering assistant. We thought we might as well join in with the fun so go team Hog!!

After the activities have dies down, everyone will be helping themselves to a delicious hog roast. With the Olympics taking part in London, there is no finer way than to celebrate with a hog roast as we use the best of British ingredients!

School BBQ and Hog Roast On The Beach

Good Afternoon everybody I hope you are all sitting comfortably and ready for another exciting hog blog!

As I type this blog for you I am actually at a beach location on the South Coast tapping away on my laptop whilst my catering team are preparing today’s hog roast.  Yes that’s right today I am lucky enough to be catering on the beach and luckily the weather has stayed nice for us 🙂

This is part of a primary school trip.  As its the last day of term today the year 6 class have been taken to the beach for a day of activities before being treated to a tasty hog roast and BBQ in the sun.  What a perfect way to kick start the long Summer holidays!  The 100 pupils plus their teachers will be feasting  a hog roast plus burgers, sausages and other BBQ treats.

My team having being cooking the hog slowly for hours making sure its cooked to perfection and are about to add the burgers and sausages.  I had better get going so I can get stuck in and help with the preparation of our home made sauces and side orders and start serving the hungry children.
