bbq catering event this weekend

Hello hog roast caterer bog readers!  Hope you are all having a great day we certainly are here in the office.  We have just booked an exciting event for this weekend.  We will be catering for a fabulous event about an hours drive away from us.  Its a family garden party and we are treating them to some tasty bbq catering.  We will be cooking up an amazing bbq which will include treats such as Aberdeen Angus beef burgers, premium pork sausages, marinated chicken pieces, spicy kebabs and juicy steaks.  The animal lovers wont go hungry either as we have some amazing veggie treats for those who don’t eat anything with a face!  Vegetarians and vegans can feast on meat free burgers and sausages, stuffed peppers and tasty risotto.

As much as I love to cook a hog old hog roast its also great fun to do bbq catering every now and then.  Everybody loves a good bbq especially one done by us!

I’m sure  it will be a great day and lets hope the sun keeps shinning but if we do get a cold spell or some March showers then fear not as we will be taking a gazebo and portable heaters just in case.  We will be fully prepared for anything so that our bbq catering event is faultless.

A day in the life of a hog roast caterer

Good afternoon its Dave here one of the hog roast caterer team and its another busy day for me!  Its a typical Tuesday today, no many events take place through the week so I get a chance to catch up with the other aspects of hog roasting.  So today I’ve got a lot of jobs to get done.  First on the list is a trip to the farmers market to stock up on some tasty fresh fruit and vegetables to make up some of our home made sauces and scrummy salads.  I visit the same farmers market every week as there produce is such fantastic quality and we only get the best for our customers!

Then I’ll be heading back to hog roast caterer headquarters to give the machines used yesterday a good clean so they will be sparkling clean and good as new ready to go for the next job we have.  We used two of our machines yesterday at an event at a local school.  We fed over 200 people so that’s quite of lot of pig fat to remove lots of elbow grease will be required!

After this is done its off to a beautiful country hotel where I have a meeting with the events co-ordinator there to discuss some events we will be catering for there in the Summer.  So a very busy Tuesday for me today! As a member of the hog roast caterer team I love my job and enjoy keeping busy and working hard so its going to be a great day for me.

The first hog roast of another busy week

Good morning everyone!  Its Monday the 7th of March and its a great day for a hog roast job!  It might only be early March but we have been treated to a nice sunny day which is great as we have a special outdoors hog roast event this afternoon.  More often than not Monday is a quiet day for catering jobs and its often spent recovering from a hectic working weekend or helping out in the busy office so it makes a refreshing change to be preparing to cook a hog roast on a Monday.  It’s a local job as well just five minutes away from the hog roast caterer depot at a primary school.  They are celebrating their spring fair and there will be a raffle, tombola, bring and buy stall and most importantly a classic hog roast provided by us.

We will cook, carve and serve our tasty hog roast to 200 hungry pupils, teachers and parents.  We will be serving the succulent hog roast in fresh, soft bread rolls with home made apple sauce and home made stuffing, so simple yet so satisfying!  We have worked with this school before catering at various events for them so it will be great to go back and see some familiar faces and catch up over a pork sandwich!  Of course with the sun shining and the warm weather its looks set to be a great day.

So time to get going and cook yet another pig to perfection for yet another happy customer.  Chow for now Hog blog readers.

bbq catering at a country pub

What have we got to inform you all of today??

Well tonight we are catering for a Country pub which is located on a Canal side where they have asked us to do a BBQ for them and bbq catering is something we do very well. The surroundings are very picturesque and the weather seems to be staying bright, so hopefully the guests will be able to mingle outside and join in on the wonderful experience. We will go prepared with a marquee just in case though.

Not sure what the pub is celebrating or whether this is just a treat for the customers or if its a private event outside on the terraces. We will be able to chat with all the people we meet whilst the Sausages and Burgers are being cooked and it is a great visual for guests inside the pub. They have also asked us to do the side dishes as well like salads and potatoes which have our own secret recipes incorporated in them. We have had numerous catering opportunities at this lovely country pub so we definitely have made a good impression by our professional service not to mention the superb food we produce. Because their business is so busy this is the reason why they have brought us in so they do not have to worry about their staffing and they know we are good at what we do. I am sure it will be an excellent night had by all and many future events will be catered for by us here.

Spring and Summer season wedding catering

Wedding catering is one my favourite types of events to cater for.  Its such a happy and joyous occasion and also its the perfect opportunity for us to create our more elaborate and luxurious dishes to compliment our outstanding hog and other meat roasts.

As we are now entering the Spring and Summer season there will be many wedding catering events for myself and the rest of the hog roast caterer team to look forward to and I can’t wait!

We can do lavish wedding breakfast served as a formal sit down dinner with as many courses as you wish or we can provide a relaxed informal evening buffet that is tasty and satisfying.

Currently we are planning a wedding for the end of this month for the future Mr and Mrs Patterson.  Mr Patterson has been a loyal customer of ours for a number of years so we delighted to be helping him celebrate his big day.  The couple have chosen classic canapes to be served as their guests arrive and these will be washed down with the finest champagne served by our first class hog roast caterer staff.  The main course will be a feast to remember as we serve a hog roast with all the tasty trimmings for the wedding breakfast.  After this has been devoured we will dress the wedding cake with fresh cream and seasonal fruits and serve.

Finally as the evening celebrations are well under way we will prepare a buffet feast of bacon and sausages, quality bread rolls and sauces.  It looks set to be the perfect day with the perfect wedding catering.

Spring time hog roast events

The start of Spring and what a beautiful day- hope this lasts through to the summer, plenty of street parties and events to be held. The warmer weather always puts a smile on my face and makes me want to get up and be enthusiastic for the day ahead. As a Hog Catering company this is also very good for our business as people want to celebrate by having a fantastic Hog Roast or BBQ outside with a couple of drinks for

family parties or to simply entertain friends on a Saturday or Bank holiday weekend. Our office tends to become very busy at this time as this is the start of things to come. Finalizing bookings and taking initial queries with regards to our Menu’s. We get numerous E-mails also to contend with to be able to help your event become a success. Nothing better I say than having good company, excellent food and service with the sun beating down and not forgetting the lovely tans we acquire whilst listening to music. Who needs to go abroad? ha.

If your thinking of celebrating in style then why not give us a try and we will gladly cater for you events.

Happy hog roast customers :)

The month of February arrives and with it a great expectation of the coming summer. After enduring a winter which spread its icy fingers into everyone’s homes, the thought of a sunlit and joyous summer is something that we cannot wait for. This year, our catering teams will be spurred on by the sun, and by the glorious encouragement we receive from our customers. Just yesterday, one of our chefs was spontaneously hugged by a woman in the street. She claimed that the food he had prepared the month before had moved her to tears. May I add that her tears were tears of joy. Not of sadness and/or grief.

Further activities this month will include many catered events, both in inner city locations as well as in rural places. The simple notion of our ‘cater anywhere’ ethos allows this beautiful flexibility. Giving our customers the freedom to choose everything within their catered events, we continue to push the boundaries of taste as well as the whole culinary experience. I will leave you with a quote, spoken by one of chefs at a charity event which we hosted. Speaking to one of our chefs, a small child said ‘You have made me truly happy. This is the best part I have ever been to.

Hog roast caterers braving the harsh winter

Brrrrrrr, what a cold week it has been, football cancelled, roads blocked, billions lost in the economy and most importantly no World Cup 2018. However that is the rest of the country here at Hog Roast Caterer we take it all in our side. Despite the bitterly cold weather with some parts of the country record lows in temperature all of our catering was completely this week without a hitch. I did feel sorry for one of our catering teams doing a corporate event at a hotel in Lincolnshire this week as I wave them goodbye. However they informed me the van cut through the snow with ease they arrive on site early and warmed themselves over the cooking hog roast machine. The hotel was so amazed by their effort they even offered them a room to stay the night in the hotel because snow had begun to fall again. However our boys are made of thicker stuff and they had a job to do so they battled the elements to attend a birthday party in Nottingham the next day which was thankfully indoors. So from the office we’d like to say a big thank you to Adam and Charlie and the rest of our teams for that matter you fought the elements this weekend and won. Our boss treated everyone to a nice meal Monday night as over the last two weeks we have had no lost man hours to the weather which I think is unbelievable considering how bad it has been. We have plenty of work booked in for this weekend and as I speak all the teams are busy running around preparing the vans for the various jobs they have on this weekend. However we do still have a few spot available for the weeks leading up to Christmas and New Year so if you’re thinking of having a hog roast this festive season please give us a call before it’s too late.
