Hello everybody welcome to Tuesday’s blog. Hope you are all well and having a wonderful day. I am certainly a happy little hog roaster caterer today 🙂 not only is the weather fantastic with bright clear sky’s and a warm breeze but business is booming at the moment and I can’t stop smiling to myself. Bookings are already coming in for the Summer months as everyone’s starts to finalize their events, parties and plans for the warmer months. I also have a small event to do this afternoon at a local school and I’m really looking forward to that. The children at this school are learning about medieval times so we are doing a hog roast for them to show how this method was done traditionally in the olden times. Of course afterwards each child will also get to try one of our fabulous pork rolls as a little snack before they go home for their tea. The weekend coming up is also packed with lots of different styles of events so once again I will be a very busy but very, very happy hog roast caterer. Life is good 🙂
The week begins with a hog roast and a lamb roast
Good afternoon hg roast caterer lovers! Its Monday the 21st of March and its time for anther exciting hog blog from everybody’s favourite hog roasters…… The hog roast caterer team. Its been a busy weekend yet again and we have been rushing around all over doing hog roast catering events as well as delivering and collecting our hog roast machines from our loyal hog roast hire customers. Now its the start of another action packed week and its time for yet another tasty hog roast to be cooked by us the hog roast caterer team. We are coking a hog roast AND a lamb roast for a charity event this afternoon. We will be feeding over 300 hungry fundraisers as they finish their sponsored work. After all that working and hard work they can tuck into a tasty pork in a roll sandwich with apple sauce and stuffing or a mouth watering lamb in a roll with mint sauce. The walk is being done to raise some pennies for a local children’s charity so naturally we are honoured to be taking part and as always our hog roast will be the star of the event!
St Paddys day hog roast
Morning to all!!
Well what a fantastic night last night, I must say.
My team and I catered for a pretty impressive number of people that were out celebrating St.Patricks day. I can say they were plenty of lively people there all with Guinness in hand or an alcoholic drink. The pressure really was on us to get the Hog Roast served to everybody whilst the food was still hot, it was a Buffet style where people helped themselves but of course I had the pleasure of carving the Hog once it was cooked. We only had to concentrate on serving the food as there was a bar at the venue.
The British tend to celebrate St.patricks day more than the Irish it seems, as in the office yesterday speaking to our customers in Ireland they were saying how quiet it was over there. Which was a surprise to my ears!!
Today I am very tired and need to re-coupe for the events lined up that I have already mentioned previously for the weekend ahead. Waking up this morning though and the sun beaming through my curtains cheered me up no end and it looks like its going to be a cracker of a weekend(fingers crossed). I hope you all have a great weekend and follow us again on Monday to see how the weekend went or what future events pop up for us.
Two weddings and a hog roast
Good Morning Hog Roast Caterer bog readers, Its Thursday or as we like to call it in the office Friday eve! The week has gone by so fast and I can’t believe its almost weekend again. Once again the hog roast caterer team are going to extra busy this weekend with lots of wedding catering jobs.
Our first wedding catering job is on Saturday. The happy couple have selected one of our supreme wedding menus with the full works. Its a true banquet with everything you could wish for; canapés served with champagne, scrummy starters, a magnificent main course consisting of our tremendous spit roasted meats and all the trimmings, a selection of our home made sweet treats for desserts and in case anybody feels peckish after that fine feast later on we will be cooking up a an evening buffet full of barbecue treats.
Not all of our wedding catering menus are this elaborate though as we understand that each customer has different tastes and ideas for the perfect wedding catering. On Sunday evening we have another wedding booked in and for this the couple have chosen a simple, informal menu. We will be serving them one of our party menus; hog roast plus spit roasted lamb served buffet style with salads and potato wedges. So whatever ideas you may have for your wedding catering the hog roast caterer team can meet your needs. We love a good wedding catering job so don’t delay get in touch with us today.
Hog roast caterer wednesday blog
Half way there!!
Plenty of Hog Roasts already cooked and plenty more still to do.
Today in the office we are just chasing up booking our Customer’s in, and steadily away selling our Hog Roast machines. We have a offer on at the moment all throughout March on some of our Machines which seems to be going down a treat.
This week already we have replied to all our Customer’s wanting prices for some of our Menus or they have been simply telling us what sort of Menu they are after and we have been working around them and pricing them up. This is why we do not have any set prices on the Website as each event is different and catered for each individual need.
As the Summer is fast approaching, we are also busy taking machine enquiries for parts that may have been damaged or that are just now worn. The parts manager has been rushed off his feet liaising with our factory depot to issue out all the parts required throughout the UK and even over sea’s. I guess these customers are getting all their Titan or Zeus Machines in tip top condition so they are able to cater their own events. We also Hire out our machines with or without the Pig, where we deliver, collect and provide the gas needed to cook with. So we do a number of things here at Hog Roast Caterer.
A hog roast to say goodbye
Its Tuesday afternoon and its time for another tasty hog roast. This afternoon were cooking up another perfect hog for a small family party. Tuesday afternoon is a strange time to hold a party but its a goodbye/ bon voyage party for a family member who is off travelling the world for a year. The lucky youngster flies out of the UK late tonight so this evening he is being treated to a tremendous hog roast with his family for his last supper.
It will be a small intimate dinner party and we will be serving the hog roast feast as a sit down dinner rather than an informal buffet style. Its not just the hog roast we will be serving up at this special dinner party. We will be provided the full works and each family member has requested their favourite trimmings so there will be a huge selection of potato treats, fresh tasty salads, seasonal veggies and great range of sauces and condiments as well as our famous freshly baked bread rolls. I’m sure these wonderful side dishes will compliment the hog roast perfectly. The hog roast itself will be done using one of our smaller pigs and secreat receipe glaze. It will then be slowly cooked to perfection on one of our award winning machines. We will cook the hog outside under a large gazebo before wheeling back into the main room to serve along side all the other goodies. Its going to be an emotional gathering and I’m sure there will be tears of sadness over the farewells but tears of joy over the outstanding hog roast.

Why I love being a hog roast caterer by Barry Saunders (aka BBQ Barry)
Good afternoon to all the hog roast caterer blog readers, its Barry Saunders here and I am one of the head hog roasting chefs at hog roast catering. I am affectionately known as BBQ Barry by my customers and colleagues and the reason for this is because I simply love my job and there’s nothing I enjoy more than whipping up a tasty hog roast feast or meaty barbecue.

First of all there is my love and passion for creating quality, tasty food, then there is the fun and excitement of watching a beautiful hog roast being cooked to perfection, there is also the pleasure of catching up with old customers as well as meeting new ones and last but not least there is that wonderful feeling that you get as you glance around an event and see the happy satisfied faces everybody present as they devour and enjoy the food that I have worked hard to cook. Weekend of hog roasting
The end of the week is now upon us and the weekend is very busy for us here. We are doing lots of Hog Roasts for all of your events, Starting tonight!!
We are catering an event at a local church where they are holding a Fundraising charity event. They have kindly agreed to our services as they think we are good value for money and that we have been recommended to them from friends that we have catered for in the past. This is what we like to hear!! That we do a great job and provide excellent service and heartwarming foods. We shall be doing Buffet style food for all that attend which includes sausages, beef burgers, chicken kebabs and tasty marinated spare ribs. Hopefully our food will go down a treat and lots of money will be raised for their nominated charity.
Tomorrow we shall be travelling a little further a field for a Wedding. We shall be dressing all the tables and laying out the crockery and linen asked for by the Bride and Groom. They have opted for our Wedding Menu six which is a sit down option with waiting staff to attend to all the guests needs. The main attraction of the spit Lamb will be done for the evening buffet rather than the sit down meal in the afternoon. The happy couple have also asked if we are happy to have our picture taken for one of their Wedding snaps, which is a great honour to us.
Summer hog roast events
Afternoon to all of our readers
Well this week has been absolutely manic, taking calls, calling customer’s back, finalizing bookings and also dealing with any Menu’s requested and Hog Roast hire’s. We are very busy on the machine front with a Mega March discount on machines. We are travelling the UK promoting them and also using this as a see before you buy. It looks as though customers and caterers are getting all geared up for the summer months to come so they are ready for the functions, as most are also calling to order new parts for their machines they have already purchased from us in previous months.
We are having a lot of ‘pig in a bun’ requests for the Royal wedding that will shortly be upon us. Customers are having street parties to celebrate so we are working out their preferred Menu’s. We are also fully booked up in certain areas of the UK so this year should be a good one for Business. We always try to cater every event our customers ask for but sometimes at such short notice we are unable to attend. So if you have not contacted us it is very easy and then we can check our availability on your specific day.
The sun has been glaring through the windows in the office today, unlike yesterday which was miserable. Tomorrow is the start of the weekend and many a catered event will be continuing throughout the weekend. So on that note look out for an update tomorrow where we shall be sharing more of our news with you
Weekend wedding catering in March
Good afternoon hog roast caterer blog readers. Its Thursday afternoon or as we like to call it here, Friday eve! We are getting excited for the weekend as we have another wedding catering job on Saturday. Here at hog roast caterer there is nothing we love more than catering for a wedding. As we have now entered Spring its looking like we will be doing at least one wedding catering job every weekend until September.
Our wedding menus are full of variety and all are made using the best ingredients we can get our hog roasting hands on! There are also great value for money which is why we have become such popular wedding caterers.
On Saturday it is quite a small wedding with just 40 family members and close friends attending. The bride and groom wanted something simple and informal and served as a sit down meal. They opted for our wedding menu package which is a great choice. Its a tasty sit down main meal consisting of one of our succulent meat roasts. We have a huge variety to choose from but the future Mr and Mrs have selected the classic hog roast. This will be served with all the trimmings such as roast potatoes with garlic and herbs, fresh seasonal vegetables, our special salad dishes and freshly baked bread rolls. A true wedding feast! I’m sure all the guests will enjoy and devour the wedding breakfast and wash it down with lots of champagne. It dose not end there though as this wonderful meal will be finished off with wedding cake as served as dessert. We will dress the wedding cake with fresh cream and seasonal fruits.
All this wedding catering talk is making me hungry, time to go home for my tea.
