Hog Roast Wisbech

What better way to spend a warm summers day, surrounded by the beautiful English countryside than to invite your family and friends for a cold glass of beer or wine in your garden, while a hog roast Wisbech chef roasts a top quality organic pig filling the air with its delicious aroma?

It’s a great picture isn’t, and that’s exactly what happened when we catered for a family gathering just outside Wisbech, a great town: close enough to be accessible and far enough to be in the heart of agricultural England. Not that you need to go to anywhere else as there’s so much happening here. We have music events, historical events, poetry readings, craft fairs, the list is endless. In July we’ll even be lucky enough to have comedians on their way to the fringe festival stop off here to showcase their acts. There really is something for everyone in Wisbech, whatever their tastes.

One of the things we often get asked at hog roast Wisbech is can we cater for smaller parties and the answer is yes. We can accommodate anything from 30 to 3000.

Our objective is to provide a service that is second to none whatever the size or duration of the event and we always clear up discretely at the end leaving you free to enjoy the party.

Our party at Wisbech chose the spit roasted pig with apple sauce, stuffing and crispy crackling along with chicken kebabs and marinated ribs. There was also a selection of salads and soft rolls. Everyone commented on the tenderness of the meat, a technique we have been perfecting over 20 years. Even the children were lining up for more!

Knowing the unpredictable nature of the English weather, we always take our gazebo with us to every event we cater, so if we are unlucky and the heavens open you can rest assured that there will be shelter from the rain for everyone. Fortunately that didn’t happen this time and the guests were able to mill around in conversation, wandering back to the chef whenever they felt the need for just a little more of our meltingly tender hog roast Wisbech.

the 17th century, the local inhabitants became known as the "Fen Tigers" because of their resistance to the draining of the fens, but the project turned Wisbech into a wealthy port handling agricultural produce. At this time Wisbech was on the estuary of the River Great Ouse, but silting caused the coastline to move north, and the River Nene was diverted to serve the town. The Wisbech Canal joining the River Nene at Wisbech was subsequently filled in and became the dual carriageway leading into the town from the east (now crossing the bypass).

By the way, did you know Wisbech locals where known as the fen tigers. Yes, that’s right, they where opposed to the draining of the fens. You can just imagine the fen tigers sitting around a fire roasting a pig around the 17th century, good food really doesn’t go out of fashion!

But they might have been a bit smelly whereas our gas fired roasting machines are not; which means if the weather is too awful, or during the winter, we can happily bring them inside and cater your function indoors without any of the smoke and smell associated with fire powered machines. So avast me hearties, if all this talk of hog roasting is making your mouth water, give hog roast Wisbech a call and we will work with you to create the perfect menu for your event!
